Persidangan Perkhidmatan Awam 2025

The Civil Service Special Conference, organised by Institut Perkhidmatan Awam, was held today at the Theatre Hall, Prime Minister’s Office, in conjunction with the 32nd Civil Service Day with the theme “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence-Driven Innovation in the Public Service.”

The morning session was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance), Prime Minister’s Office.

In the morning session, participants heard from Professor Yaacob bin Ibrahim, Professor of Engineering at the Singapore Institute of Technology who shared on “AI in the Public Service”. Ms. Sigrit Siht, the Director of AI and Data at Digital Nation in Estonia delivered a session on “How to Make the Brunei Government AI-Powered: Insights from Estonia and Beyond”, Professor Prajapati Trivedi, a Distinguished Professor at Management Development Institute in India presented on “AI and Performance Management. Meanwhile, Yang Berhormat Chong Chin Yee, member of Brunei’s Legislative Council, inspired participants with a session titled “From Curiosity to Capability: Cultivating an AI-Driven Mindset”.

The afternoon session opened with a presentation by Dr Abby Tan, the General Manager of EVYD Technology entitled “From Data to Discovery: AI as a Catalyst in Modern Healthcare”. This was followed by a panel forum moderated by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, bringing together all the five speakers for an engaging discussion.

The afternoon proceedings were further distinguished by the presence of the Guest of Honour Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

The Special Conference brought together over 256 participants from the government sector, GLCs and foreign mission. Joining virtually were participants from the ASEAN Public Service Training Institutes (PSTI) Network.
