

Seminar on AI
Institut Perkhidmatan Awam today organised the Seminar on AI in the Public Sector: Learning from Best Practices. The seminar aimed to present elements of digital transformation and AI-based innovation in the public sector, highlight the use of AI applications that can improve efficiency and simplify daily work processes and share current issues or best practices related to innovation, digital transformation and AI in governance and public service delivery systems.
The seminar featured two presentations from international experts and practitioners in AI and governance, Ms. Sigrit Siht and Ms. Adhele Tuulas, Estonia co-delivered an in-depth session entitled “Deep Dive into Making AI Work in the Government of Brunei” followed by a presentation on “AI and Performance Management” by Professor Prajapati Trivedi, India. All presenters also shared approaches templates that could be of use pertaining to their respective topics.
The interactive Question-and-Answer session after the presentations has given participants the opportunity to directly engage with the speakers on opportunities and issues related to AI adoption in governance.
This seminar reflects the Government of Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to strengthening public sector capabilities through innovation, knowledge-sharing, and international collaboration. By drawing on global best practices, the nation seeks to accelerate digital transformation while ensuring effective and people-centric service delivery.
The half-day seminar gathered more than 200 participants, comprising from the government sector, higher education institution, GLCs and private sector. The event reflected IPA’s commitment to driving capacity-building initiatives and fostering digital readiness in support of Brunei’s public sector transformation agenda.
