Institut Perkhidmatan Awam (IPA), Brunei Darussalam undertook an official visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, from 1–2 October 2026, with engagements at Lembaga Administrasi Negara Republik Indonesia (LAN RI) and the ASEAN Secretariat.
The visit focused on strengthening cooperation under the ASEAN Public Sector Training Institutions (ASEAN PSTI) Network, particularly through discussions on the proposed Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) to establish a common regional standard for the accreditation and recognition of public sector training programmes across ASEAN.
Discussions also covered the proposed ASEAN PSTI MRA Coordinating Committee, ASEAN procedures and institutional requirements, the ASEAN PSTI logo and branding, as well as future collaboration between IPA and LAN RI.
The engagement contributes towards preparations for the ASEAN PSTI Exit Meeting in Brunei Darussalam, as it approaches the conclusion of its tenure as Convenor of the ASEAN PSTI Network this year.
Together, these efforts support stronger regional cooperation, quality assurance and the development of a future-ready ASEAN public service workforce.
