The ASEAN-China Academies on Governance and Public Administrative and Think Tank (NAGPAT) Meeting in Beijing
On 30 October 2024, the ASEAN-China Academies on Governance and Public Administration and Think Tank (NAGPAT) Meeting was convened in Beijing, bringing together representatives from training institutions of ASEAN countries and China.
IPA was represented by the Assistant Director Haji Yusma Ariffin Dato Paduka Haji Md Yusof, joined by two IPA officers.
The meeting centered on the theme “Joining Hands to Advance the Modernization of Governance Capacity,” where participants engaged in in-depth discussions aimed at enhancing governance practices. A key outcome was the establishment of the ASEAN-China Network of Academies on Governance and Public Administration and Think Tanks (ASEAN-China NAGPAT), which seeks to promote cooperation in governance, leadership, and public policy. This initiative aims to strengthen decision-making through joint research and consultation services while fostering people-to-people exchanges and cultural understanding.
By sharing best practices and experiences, the network aspires to contribute to the modernization of governance capacities in both ASEAN countries and China, ultimately building a closer community with a shared future. The collaboration further widen and strengthen IPA’s network as Brunei government training institution.
